I’m 82 & have reunited with my Egyptian husband, 36, after a month apart – now he’s left the UK for his homeland again

PENSIONER Iris Jones, 82, and her "priceless gem" of a husband Mohamed, 36, are being kept apart once again – as he's returned to his home country of Egypt after a brief reconciliation.

Iris met Egyptian-born Mohamed, 36, on Facebook in 2019 and married in November 2020 – despite their 46 year age gap.

She's been keeping fans updated on their relationship on social media, and took to Facebook earlier this week to express her joy at reuniting with her spouse after a month apart.

"Love is… Knowing you look like s**t after a days housework and gardening, without a scrap of make up on dressed in my scruff!" she wrote.

"After a month's absence, my wonderful husband will welcome me just just the way I am, because that's what love is all about.

"Welcome home, Mohamed. Missing you this past month has made me realise what a priceless gem you are.

"This rough diamond of a wife will be more appreciative of you in the future."

However, on the same day, Mohamed shared a video from Cairo airport in Egypt, as he explained he had returned to the country for a "special reason"

"I miss my wife Iris, I miss her, and I miss my life with my wife," he said in the video.

People commenting on the video speculated that it was a visa issue keeping the pair apart, as it was previously revealed that the Home Office had yet to grant Mohamed a spousal visa.
