I'm a beauty whizz and raided Superdrug's new under £5 line – what you need to snap up to elevate your make-up bag | The Sun

A MAKE-UP guru put Superdrug’s new line to the test to see if it's as “flawless” as the products promise.

YouTuber Steph Toms splurged over £70 on the range and was able to buy almost everything required to do a full face of make-up.

Bosses at Superdrug said the Studio London Cosmetics products were created to “work harder with smaller price tags”.

And being advertised as perfect for make-up novices and experts alike, content creator Steph weighed in on the products in a detailed tutorial.

The 30-year-old created a glam look of blue eyeshadow, fluffy brows and a glowy complexion.

She said: “I was literally in Superdrug getting some like purple shampoo or something and it was one of those moments where I walked past the counter and I did a little reverse.

“And I was like, ‘you're new’.

“So, I picked up as many things as I could.”

The Studio London Cosmetics range is vegan and cruelty free, and most of the items are priced around £5.

The cheapest bits are £3 eyeliners and lipliners, while the most expensive item is a £9 foundation.

Steph, from Cornwall, started off using the Colour Icon Eyeshadow Base which she compared to the viral P.Louise product – except Studio London’s version is just £5.

To create a blue smokey eye, Steph used the Colour Icon Eye Pigment in Indigo to create a vibrant eyelid.

She then used the Colour Icon Eyeshadow Palette – which is also £5 – to create a smokey eye.

Using the After Dusk shade palette, she had a choice of six brown, red and blue hues.

Steph reviewed: “Can we appreciate the no fallout?

“That’s kind of nice – I like that.”

Fallout is when eyeshadows or powder pigments fall off the brush and onto the face, rather than sticking to the eyelid.

Steph then applied the Flaunt Flawless Perfecting Foundation with a big brush.

She said: “It doesn’t say if this is full coverage or not.

“It looks like it’s a light to medium coverage.

“Maybe slightly more on the medium side.

“This is blending out really, really nicely… it feels like it’s gliding on my skin really well.”

Steph’s next step was smoothing the Studio London Flaunt Flawless Cream Concealer under her eyes, forehead and chin.

She said: “This concealer has coverage… Are you kidding me?

“That has some serious coverage.

“It looks a little bit more matte than I would like and I’m a bit worried about how it’ll powder down.”

She called applying powder the “scariest part” of her review while begging: “Please be good.”

The beauty whizz found the powder more matte than her usual choice but hailed it as “lightweight” and “pretty good”.

Among the other base products was the Flaunt Flawless Cream Bronzer for £5, Flaunt Flawless Cream Blush for £5 and the U-Dew-U Liquid Highlighter for £5 – all of which Steph dubbed as “not bad”.

She finished off her base with the £5 U-Dew-U Highlighter Powder in Glow Get It on her cheekbones and brow bones but wasn’t wowed by it.

Her full-face was set with the U-Matte-R Setting Mist which unfortunately “smelt like wotsits” for the cool price of £5.

Steph also used the cheapest product of the range – Studio London’s £3 eyeliner.

She said: “This one’s actually picking up on my waterline.

“I’m not mad at it… looking pretty good.”

She was impressed with the “colour payoff” of the £3 lip liners and finished her lips off with the £5 Power Pout Velvet Lipstick and £5 Power Pout Lip Plumper on top.

Reviewing the make-up after a full day of wearing it, Steph noted that she looked a bit oily and textured in places.
