A CELEBRITY impersonator revealed that she has to go to great lengths to maintain an iconic appearance.
Allegra “Pi” DuVal is a Britney Spears tribute artist, and puts a lot of effort and money into her hair and beauty as well as her body to represent the beloved pop star well.
Pi has been a dancer her whole life; previously owning a dance company, choreographing for RuPaul’s Drag Race winners, and professionally backup dancing for EDM artists.
But the start of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic slightly changed her career path and sparked a new passion, impersonating Britney Spears.
“Obviously I’m a dancer and the arts were the first thing to stop,” she said, explaining that there were limited jobs that she could safely hold.
Questioning what she was going to do with her free time, Pi said that she downloaded TikTok.
“When I joined, I started making Britney TikToks just for fun because I had a few Britney costumes,” she explained, adding that she started being likened to the pop star in her 20s.
“I started refining my makeup and figuring out my face contour and the costumes and the hair,” she said.
After this, Pi noticed that her TikTok videos started blowing up and that people were stunned by how much she looked like her idol.
“Before I knew it, people were messaging me asking to perform at their birthdays,” she revealed.

Since, Pi has been traveling to perform at various events and celebrations around the country. She recreates Britney’s iconic dance routines, costumes, and makeup looks from different eras.
“Makeup is a huge thing because I don’t exactly look like her,” she said, adding: “I definitely have to buy a lot of makeup and do a lot of contouring on my nose and cheeks.”
She prefers using Anastasia Beverly Hills' $40 Powder Contour Kit and KVD Beauty's $50 Shade + Light Refillable Powder Face Contour Palette.
“Keeping my hair bleach blonde, which I’ve been doing for a long time, is like $300 a month to get nicely done,” Pi revealed.
The tribute artist also has to do several other costly beauty treatments to maintain her look.
“I have to spray tan all the time and get my nails done,” she said, explaining that this can cost an additional $300 a month.
“It’s a lot of money to keep up with everything, but that’s show business,” she added.
Her transformations make her superstar-like and some people fall under the spell of feeling like they’re seeing an actual celebrity.
“It’s definitely trippy when I’m in full costume with the hair and makeup after I just did this crazy performance and then I come talk to you. It may be intimidating for some people,” Pi said.
The tribute artist also has to stay in really good shape in order to attain Britney’s toned physique and be able to perform high-energy routines.
In addition to doing Pilates, yoga, and belly dancing, she's even recreated one of Britney's at-home workouts that the singer posted on Instagram.
“A lot of what I have to do behind the scenes is staying really fit. I workout every day,” she said, adding: “I’m constantly trying to learn a new dance.”
Pi's signature performances include dance routines and handmade costumes from the "…Baby One More Time" and "Oops!…I Did It Again" music videos along with Britney's MTV performance of "Slave 4 U."

She emphasized that she works so hard because she feels like she has a responsibility to uphold Britney's image and meet fans' expectations.
"I really want people to know that I do this with all the integrity that I have and all the respect that I have and I work my butt off to represent her well, in a positive light, because Britney is an icon,” Pi said.
