A SAVVY cleaning granny has shared the best way to make your bed sheets brighter in just one wash.
The best part is you'll probably already have the two items you need in your kitchen cupboards, so you can give it a go straight away.
Babs, a grandma-of-eight, revealed that all you need to get your sheets looking brand new is some baking soda and a splash of vinegar.
The hack doesn't only work on bedsheets either -it's perfect for oldtowels too.
First load your washing machine with your dingy sheets and towels, then in the section for powdered detergent add in half a cup of baking soda, and half a cup of white vinegar to the fabric dispenser.
"If you don't have an automatic fabric dispenser just stop the machine before the rinse cycle and manually add your white vinegar," Babs said.

She continued: "Make sure you set the water temperature to the very hottest setting."
After coming out of the machine not only were the sheets were noticeably whiter, but the baking soda and vinegar also banished any grim smells.
The cleaning trick even works if your sheets and towels aren't white – they'll still be loads fresher.
And since you probably already have baking soda and vinegar at home the hack is basically free.
