I’m a pro carpet cleaner – how to get sticky gum out of carpet with a cheap and common kitchen ingredient

A PROFESSIONAL carpet cleaner has revealed an easy and chemical-free way to remove gum that’s stuck in carpet.

All it involves is a cheap and common kitchen ingredient.

The video, which was posted to Omaha Carpet Cleaning’s social media page, revealed all you need is a single lemon to get stubborn and sticky gum out of your carpet.

The trick is to work a fork under the gum to loosen it from the carpet fibers and then dab freshly squeezed lemon juice on the gum with a cotton round or something similar.

The video showed the expert rotating between picking at the gum with a fork and dabbing lemon juice on it until it was nearly gone.

“This is an easy and safe way to get gum out of your carpet,” the expert said in a voiceover.

“If there’s a little left at the end, you can use a gel hand sanitizer to help break down the rest of the gum on the carpet fiber.”

The end of the video showed the professional cleaner picking the last little bit of gum away with their fingers and gel sanitizer.

In reply to a comment under the video, the expert said the lemon trick can also help with removing gum from hair and that peanut butter can get the job done as well.

The expert did not reply to a question asking how to remove candle wax stuck on carpet, but luckily, another expert previously shared her tip for this – and it’s a surprisingly simple process.

All you have to do is put a cloth over the wax and iron it.

The heat will melt the wax and allow you to lift it from the carpet.
