AN UPSET bloke explained that his boss has been updating his timesheets to remove any overtime as they don't want to pay him the extra wages.
The disgruntled employee said that he only goes over by five-ten minutes every now but his employer doesn't want to foot the bill, which last year only came to an additional £110 on top of this annual salary.
Taking to Reddit, the man said that he thought that these actions could be wage theft but wasn't sure if he should do something about it.
He said: "My boss stared editing my time card to delete the 10-20 minutes of overtime that occasionally happens during my week.
"My boss told me they were going to do this because 'we know your actual work doesn't 100% fill your day so you have a lot of downtime and you shouldn't be going over 40 hours'.

"But sometimes, I'm five minutes over on one day, ten minutes over on the next because something has cut my lunch short or replying to an email went a few minutes past 4pm or the time card system was so slow to load that it took six minutes to clock out.
"It's legitimate working time, but it's only a few minutes a week and they're trying to be strict about 40 hours only.
"I even looked at my paystubs for 2021 and it only amounted to about $150 in overtime for the entire year. If they need $150 that f***ing badly they can have it.

"My boss makes easily double what I do in a year and 80% of my department is salaried so it's not like my employers are hurting for $150.
"I'm like 60% sure this counts as wage theft but I'm not sure it's worth going down that road."
Fellow Redditors were quick to jump in with their thoughts on the situation.
One said: "It is wage theft and your boss is an idiot for thinking they can just decide what does and doesn't count as work when you are on the clock, and can therefore deduct whatever they feel like to avoid paying due overtime. Legally they can't, so report them."
While another said: "Stop working those minutes. Just put down the pen (or hammer, or whatever your tool is) and walk away. Never work for free."
And a third said: "They’ll keep stealing it until someone reports it and they get into trouble."
