Naomi Kurahashi went with relaxed elegance for fall, turning out a collection of polished outerwear, long dresses and classic separates in luxe fabrics and oversize silhouettes.
The look: Kurahashi focused on reinventing iconic styles while still keeping them timeless. Wool overcoats and suits in black or navy wool were complemented by wide-legged trousers, loose blouses and shirts, and ankle-length straight dresses with details such as overall straps or bib fronts.
Standout pieces: The collection was often conservative yet refined, but some looks pushed the envelope more than others. A floor-grazing black lace dress was combined with elements of a trenchcoat at the bust and neckline for a unique, versatile piece. Checked blouses and matching skirts in navy windowpane or red, yellow and blue plaid were still classic but stood out from the neutral solids.

Takeaway: Kurahashi once again showed her skill at updating wardrobe staples without relying on showy embellishments or heavy changes to classic shapes. Instead she used beautifully rich textures and loose, draping silhouettes to create a collection that will look just as gorgeous on a screen as on the street.
