Asda has constantly made changes in stores and to its delivery services during the coronavirus pandemic. Here are the latest delivery updates from the supermarket giant.
Asda has regularly changed shopping rules throughout the pandemic.
Rules include social distancing in stores, sanitising stations and handing out face masks for customers who need one.
The retailer has also upgraded its home delivery service to help those who are currently self-isolating, or who do not feel comfortable visiting supermarkets.
It announced it has increased to 900,000 available delivery slots this month.
This means there are more slots available for shoppers to choose from on the Asda website.
It has also updated its service for same day delivery.
Last year, the supermarket giant also partnered with Uber Eats to deliver groceries in as little as 30 minutes.
The delivery service allows customers to choose from 350 own brand customers.
After the initial successful trial last year, it has been extended into more stores across the UK.
Customers in 200 locations are now able to take advantage of the quick delivery service.
A statement said: “The supermarket is also doubling the size of its partnership with Uber Eats, with 200 stores providing customers with a rapid 30-minute delivery service on 350 Asda-branded products.”
The service offers essential items such as ready meals, fruits and vegetables as well as beer, wine and spirits.
Speaking when it was first launched, Vice President of Online Grocery at Asda Simon Gregg said: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Uber Eats to trial a rapid grocery delivery service for customers in Leeds and Birmingham.
“This will give Asda customers more choice in how they shop with us and offer yet another way to quickly and conveniently get their favourite branded and own-brand products delivered to the doorstep.
“Customers can use the Uber Eats app to select from hundreds of items for delivery in the same way they would shop for a takeaway.”
As restrictions start to ease in some parts of the UK, shopping rules will remain in place in stores to keep customers safe.
Discussing changes in stores, Asda CEO and President Roger Burnley said: “We will continue to do all we can to keep colleagues and customers safe in store as we have since the start of the pandemic.
“Our stores and distribution centres have proved to be highly resilient to the challenges of a national lockdown.
“We are confident that we can continue to deliver choice and value for customers in the weeks ahead.
“We are asking customers to play their part too by continuing to shop considerately and respecting social distancing when they visit our stores.”
