The Summer Bank Holiday is this weekend, giving most of us a long weekend off work. Shops don’t have to close on Bank Holidays anymore, so don’t worry about making that last-minute dash to the supermarket for barbecue food and sweet treats. Express.co.uk reveals what time Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda are open on Bank Holiday Monday.
Tesco
Tesco stores are typically open as usual on Bank Holiday weekends.
Express.co.uk has got in touch with Tesco to find out if the opening times are any different this year and will update the article when they respond.
Tesco stores are usually open on Bank Holiday Mondays too, but under slightly different opening hours.
When checking Tesco’s opening times, the stores appear to open from 6am or 7am until 10pm or 11pm on Monday.
However, there is no uniform opening time for all Tesco stores on Bank Holiday Monday, so the wisest thing to do is check your local store on the store locator on the day.
Sainsbury’s
All weekend, Sainsbury’s is open for its usual opening hours in every UK store.
That means your local should be open from 7am till 11pm on Friday, 7am till 10pm on Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sunday.
Monday’s opening hours should be 8am until 8pm in every Sainsbury’s store, but your best bet is to check the store locator to avoid the disappointment of a wasted trip.
Asda
Most Asda stores will be open for business as usual over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
On Friday, Asda has said its stores are open for its regular hours.
On Saturday shops should be open from 7am until 10pm and on Sunday they’ll be open from 10am until 4pm.
The Bank Holiday Monday hours are very generous, with stores opening from 8am until 8pm.
As always, check your local store’s opening hours before you set off on your weekly shop as they may vary from location to location.
