SIMPLY downloading an app to your phone can give you access to free food and drink from some of your favourite joints.
McDonalds and KFC are among the fast food chains which do giveaways for first time users and there's sweet treats up for grabs from Krispy Kreme.
You don't have to wait around for these offers either – they'll be waiting for you as soon as you get the app on your phone and sign up.
In-app freebies are there to tempt customers to use the app, which helps brands understand more about customers.
You'll have to share some information with them like your name, contact details and location, but in return you get free stuff.
As well as freebies for first-time users which you can use straight away, you can get alerts for future offers, like discounts on food through the apps too.

You can get a free hot drink when you download the McDonald's app.
The My McDonalds app on the App Store and Google Play and is free to download.
This offer gives you any regular sized McCafe hot drink, including tea, hot chocolate and a range of coffees.
How much you save depends on which drink you go for as prices range from 99p to £1.69.
If you want to get the most out of this freebie, you'll need to get the toffee late, which is £1.69, and here's how much each drink usually costs.

Unfortunately this deal is only for people using the app for the first time – if you have the app already it won't be available.
That doesn't mean you old hands don't get anything, and McDonald's offers loads of ongoing deals.
You may even be among the lucky deal testers who get sent discounts that others don't.
Maccies' loyalty scheme has gone digital and you can get this through the app too.
KFC free snack – £1.99
New customers who download the KFC app will automatically get given three reward stamps to exchange for a side or drink.
To get the freebie, you must download the app and register and then you can redeem your rewards for a free side.

Krispy Kreme free doughnut – £1.85
Krispy Kreme lovers can get a free doughnut by signing up to its app-based loyalty scheme.
Before you even start collecting reward points, you get one free doughnut just for signing up.
You'll only be able to get an original glaze flavour but that's still a saving of £1.85.
Krispy Kreme also gives away free doughnuts on your birthday, along with loads of other places.
