A woman has revealed that she drove for hours to meet a man she had been talking to online for a month – but was left gobsmacked by his cruel actions when they came face to face for the first time.
Kiera McGinnity decided to jump in her car and travel for near enough three hours to meet her potential lover.
But despite her long journey, the flame between the pair was quickly put out after the man left her in a very awkward position.
In a clip that has now racked up 237,000 views, Kiera shared the heart-breaking ordeal on TikTok.
She wrote: "Drives 2.5 hours to meet up with a guy I had been talking to for over a month.
"He blocks me on everything as soon as I get there."
Ouch!
Kiera told people not to ridicule her for driving that far to begin with, as she captioned the clip: "True story friends. Don’t come at me for driving that far either."
Although she had been clear not to point out her choice to travel to see the man – many people criticised her for venturing that far by herself.
One person commented: “Never drive to see any man for the first time. You have to be careful out there.”
Another user added: “Always get the guy to come to you. It’s not safe for a woman to travel on her own to meet a stranger.”
While a third user slammed: “That’s why a man should always come to you. Don’t ever do that again.”
However, others have been more supportive of Kiera and her journey to find love – no matter how far it takes her.
One user said: “I’m sorry someone did that to you! Nobody deserves that. You drove there and took a chance on love, you should be proud of yourself for trying.”
Someone else expressed: “His loss.”
And, this user remarked: “Believing in love? Good for you – his loss.”
Despite having received a barrage of comments telling her to not drive a long distance to meet a date again, Kiera chose not to listen – and has chosen her pursuit of love instead.
In the comments she admitted: “ Y’ALL. I did it again for another guy. And it went SO well. Update coming soon. Don’t come for me.”
