Jeremy Renner is out of surgery to treat severe injuries he sustained after his snowplow accidentally ran over him.
The “Avengers” star’s rep confirmed to People that Renner “suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”
Renner, 51, “returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” the rep added.
The “Mayor of Kingstown” star’s family also wished to “express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.
“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans,” the statement concluded.
Renner was airlifted to the hospital from nearby his Reno, Nevada, home following the freak accident. One of the Oscar-nominated actor’s neighbors later explained that the plow accidentally ran over one of Renner’s legs, causing him to lose a tremendous amount of blood.
Renner previously has posted videos and photos of himself using his plow to help his family get out of winter storms once they’ve concluded.
“I have so much respect for Mother Earth, and Mother Nature … I expect to lose the fight but I’ll always give it my best shot #tahoelife life #snowthrower,” he captioned one video of himself clearing a path with his plow in mid-December.
