This is unsurprising when you consider her long career at the very top of the acting industry.
Julie started out performing unbilled onstage with her parents, making her professional debut age just 12.
in 1948, at age 13, she became the youngest solo performer ever at the Royal Variety Performance singing in front of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
The stage was her home for years, and she made a splash on Broadway in the 1950s.
Julie did dip her toe into film – starring in TV film High Tor alongside Bing Crosby.
Her big breakout role was playing Eliza Doolittle in the stage version of My Fair Lady.
However, she famously was not chosen to play Eliza in the film – that role went to Audrey Hepburn.

Losing out to Hepburn may have been a blow, but it meant Andrews was available for the role that would win her a Best Actress Oscar in 1964 – Mary Poppins.
The film continues to be a classic for children around the world, and was recently updated with Emily Blunt in the lead role.
The Sound of Music came in 1965, and it was the highest grossing film of that year.
Julie continued to have a strong career throughout the next few decades in films and on the stage again.
In 1997 she was forced to undergo surgery after developing hoarseness in her throat which was reported to be non-cancerous nodules.
However, Julie confirmed on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010 that “I didn’t have cancer, I didn’t have nodules, I didn’t have anything”.
After suing the doctors who had operated on her throat, Julie settled for an undisclosed sum in 2000.
While her singing voice was changed forever, that didn’t stop Julie from continuing to star in films – including classic 2001 film The Princess Diaries.
In February 2011, Andrews received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Most recently, she has been heard as the narrator in Netflix hit Bridgerton.
Julie’s co-star in The Sound of Music, Christopher Plummer, died earlier this year.
