Kevin Federline is about to get significantly less money from Britney Spears, as she’ll no longer have to pay child support for their eldest son, Sean, when he turns 18 in a matter of weeks.
“Britney is relieved that Sean is turning 18 on September 14 because she is tired of paying Kevin the insane amount of money he is getting,” a source explained to Daily Mail. “Britney is happy to help Sean and Jayden. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for her sons. But this would go directly to them after they turn 18 instead of Kevin,” they added.

According to the source, Britney remains willing to provide financial assistance to her sons. However, she’s relieved that there won’t be any further child support payments directed to her former, Kevin Federline, whom she was wed to married from 2004 to 2007.
However, shortly after their separation, Kevin obtained primary custody of their children, and the singer has been paying regular child support ever since.
It’s unknown how much child support Britney has been paying Kevin up until now. However, back in May 2018, Kevin Federline officially requested an upward modification in child support payments for their two sons. He sought an increase of $40,000 per month, aiming to raise the total from $20,000 to $60,000.
It was speculated that Kevin may be eligible for more child support earlier this year, when it came to light that Kevin had sought Britney’s consent to relocate their sons to Hawaii, where he now resides with his wife and their two younger children. Britney, it seems, did not oppose this move.
Nonetheless, there was speculation that the move to the tropical state might lead to increased financial obligations for Britney, as Hawaii has more extensive child support regulations compared to several other U.S. states.
In specific instances, Hawaii can mandate a parent to provide child support until the child reaches the age of 23.
Nevertheless, Hawaiian laws dictate that if child support was initially established in another state, that agreement remains in effect. In this case, Britney and Kevin’s arrangement is subject to Californian jurisdiction, where child support obligations cease once a child reaches the age of 18.
Currently, Kevin and Britney’s younger son, Jayden, is 17 years old, meaning it won’t be much longer before the pop star is no longer obligated to provide child support for him as well.
