An NHS surgeon with a massive TikTok following has told his followers "your life is a lie" and shared an optical illusion that tests the limit of our brains.
In the clip, Dr Karan Rajan @dr.karanr says: "Watch this picture of the waiting room of a science lab and spot the items that seem out of place.
"Over the next 20 seconds, I’ll show you how your brain just misses obvious information that’s right in front of your eyes."
He says this is known as "change blindness".
The waiting room has bookcases covering one wall, a corner sofa, a coffee table, a Christmas tree, and a giant blue exercise ball.
A black and white swirl has been superimposed over one section of the image to draw in your eyes.
When the 20 seconds is over, Dr Karan reveals that loads of things have been swapped around.
The blue ball is missing entirely, ceiling tiles have disappeared, the tree is now in another corner of the room, and the books have been moved to another part of the bookshelf.

According to Dr Karan, there are more than a dozen changes that occur but our brains just don’t notice them.
He says: "This highlights the limits of human attention… that’s actually a good thing.
"If you tried to press everything in your visual spectrum you would go insane."
Unsurprisingly, the video has been watched more than 1.5 million times since it was uploaded on April 14 and viewers say their minds have been blown.

One said: "This is crazy and why memory is not infallible in a court of law!"
A second viewer said: "Makes me uneasy I didn’t notice any changes at first!"
"Even after watching it again I still missed the changes," said someone else.
Another person wrote: "Each time I watch it there is just more obvious stuff that I had missed."
This comes after Dr Karan explained the weird science behind déjà vu and how it is basically a "brain glitch".
He also has an Instagram account where he explains science and medical facts.
