Fans have been left shocked after Olivia Attwood, dubbed the favourite to win this series, quit after just one day in the jungle.
The former Love Island star, who came third in the 2017 series with her then-beau Chris Hughes, was involved in a "medical drama" overnight and show medics deemed it unsafe for her to continue.
A statement confirmed the news, reading: “As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.
“Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be a further investigation. She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed on the show.”
It’s not the first time that the 31-year-old has been through a health scare.
In 2020, Olivia had to have mystery surgery to remove a lump in her breast.
On her show Olivia Meets Her Match she told the cameras: “It’s been a rough couple of weeks. I found a lump at the top of my right breast and it was quite hard and I could really feel it was quite near the surface.
"It’s causing me now quite a lot of pain and discomfort. The chances are it’s going to be nothing, but it still sits bit in the pit in your stomach.”
Luckily, medics confirmed that they were ‘confident’ it wasn’t breast cancer but Olivia decided to remove the lump in an operation anyway.
Last year, she also opened up about her battles with ADHD, anxiety and depression, saying she was feeling ‘constantly overwhelmed’.
She was first diagnosed with ADHD as a child and later received a second diagnoses as an adult before going into the Love Island villa.
She said the ‘amazing’ doctor who treated her when she needed to get some help with her mental health said her ADHD tendencies led her to be ‘really hyperactive’ when dealing with anxiety which lead to depression.
She said she still thinks there’s a big stigma around the diagnosis and that there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.
Olivia was also struck down with the killer-virus Swine Flu whilst on holiday with her friends in Cyprus after she ignored the advice of travel agents.
Swine Flu was declared a pandemic in 2009 however medics were able to get the outbreak under control within a year.
She said the flu was so serious that her friend had to be admitted to hospital for two weeks and her dad had to fly out to be at her bedside.
