“Vanderpump Rules” star Scheana Shay grew emotional upon discovering that her former co-star and on-again, off-again friend Stassi Schroeder is pregnant with baby No. 2.
“Oh, wow! I did not know that, congratulations!!” a stunned Shay said on Wednesday during a joint interview with co-star Raquel Leviss for an upcoming episode of Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.
Shay further spilled that the expectant mother told her back in November that she was eager to get pregnant again back.
“I had a good conversation with her at Pandora [Vanderpump]’s son’s birthday, and I know she said she was ready for baby No. 2 — I was like ‘I am not there at all’ — but oh my God I am so happy for her! I literally just got chills,” Shay dished.
The “Straight Up With Stassi” podcast host announced on Wednesday that she and her husband, Beau Clark, are expecting their second baby. The couple welcomed daughter Hartford in January 2021.
Shortly after learning of the pregnancy news, Shay began to tear up when she was asked if she was also ready to try for a second baby.
“Here’s where the tears come in because I had a very traumatic labor. I had a miscarriage, [and] there’s a lot of fears around me being a mom again, so I’m so happy for her, but I’m not there,” Shay said with a quivering voice.
“Oh my God, I’m genuinely really happy for her. I know she wanted this,” she continued with tears welling up in her eyes. “We don’t have to get along, but in moments like this, we can be genuinely happy for one another.”
Shay and Schroeder have had a rocky relationship since they met while filming Season 1 of “Vanderpump Rules” back in 2012.
Shay recently opened up about her “terrifying” journey with postpartum OCD following the birth of her daughter, Summer Moon, in April 2021.
“I feel like the amount of work I’ve been doing in therapy with learning I have postpartum OCD, I feel so much more confident as a mom,” she said on a Feb. 17 episode of the “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.
“That’s the thing with OCD is that it attaches to your biggest fears and then you just see them happening all of the time and it’s terrifying. But I just have to tell myself, ‘This isn’t going to happen, it’s not going to happen, you got this,’” she told us.
“Vanderpump Rules” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
