Tesco is hiking the price of its meal deal, which could be a blow to those counting pennies during the cost of living crisis.
From next week (Monday 24), the lunchtime bundle is being hiked by 40p.
Clubcard holders have paid £3 for the meal deal for a decade – but now they’ll have to fork out £3.40.

Meanwhile, customers without a loyalty card will see prices rise from £3.50 to £3.90.
The offer – which entitles shoppers to a main, snack and a drink – can save you up to £3.04 if you use a Clubcard and pick up the priciest items.
And despite the cost being hiked, it's still one of the cheapest lunch promotions you can find on the market at the moment.
A Tesco spokesperson said more than 70% of customers use a Clubcard when redeeming the meal deal offer.
They added: “Clubcard members will pay just £3.40 for a main, snack and drink, making our meal deal an ideal way to grab a great value lunch on-the-go.
“And with savings of up to £3 on millions of possible combinations across our stores, including the recent addition of Costa hot drinks, and our ever-popular Christmas sandwiches which join the meal deal for the festive period, we’ve got something for every taste.”

- Sainsbury’s – £3.50
- Morrisons – £3.50 for standard meal deal
- Co-op – £4 (or £3.50 for loyalty card members)
- Boots – £4.99 in London but £3.99 for rest of UK (or £4.50 and £3.60 for loyalty card members)
- Greggs sandwich deal – £4.15
- M&S – £5 (only available in franchise stores)
- Asda – Three for two on items, with cheapest free
