This little dormouse was given an absolutely minuscule arm sling after suffering a suspected shoulder injury.
It’s only suspected because, due to the fact that he’s so small, vets weren’t able to get an X-ray image.
Still, staff at the Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital in South Africa patched him up and hope one day he’ll be recovered enough to be released back into the wild.
A spokesperson said in a Facebook post: ‘This tiny patient is a young Woodland dormouse.
‘He had been caught by a cat and came all the way from the Waterberg to us for help.
‘We suspect that he has a shoulder injury – we can only suspect as he is too small to really take radiographs.
‘Vet Nurse Jacky Spiby has secured the arm in place with the tiniest bandage ever.
‘With cage rest, we are hoping that the shoulder will heal and that he too will be released back into the wild one day.’
Commenters on the post, which has wracked up over 2,600 likes so far, are smitten.
One wrote: ‘Oh my word, what a little treasure. Thank you for caring for all creatures big or small. Stay strong little one.’
‘The cutest thing I’ve ever seen,’ another commented.
