TOPSY-TURVY Tottenham remain tough to predict but they hold a good recent record against a Crystal Palace side going well under Roy Hodgson.

What to make of Tottenham?
They’ve looked truly awful for periods of late – think the first 21 minutes at Newcastle and the opening 15 at Liverpool last weekend.
Yet they’ve also shown some character and glimpses of their ability in recent games, fighting back from two down to draw with Manchester United and also cancelling out a three-goal deficit at Anfield – only to then concede an injury-time winner.
Essentially, they look to have goals in them but they seem incapable of any kind of defensively solidity which is making it hard for them to win games. That is summed up by the fact that seven of their last eight have produced over 2.5 goals.
With Harry Kane in their side, they are always going to be able to trouble opposing defences and notably he has an excellent record against Palace (see below). So do Spurs as a whole, winning this fixture in each of the last seven seasons. Six of those wins have been ‘to nil’.
However, a win-to-nil repeat looks less likely this time around given those defensive woes – Cristian Romero and Eric Dier’s futures must surely have called into question after recent displays.

Palace were also involved in a ding-dong battle last weekend, edging out West Ham 4-3 in the end.
Their form is much more solid, the Eagles winning four of six since Roy Hodgson was reappointed with the aim of guiding them to safety. That has been achieved with the 40-point mark hit.
We’ve seen in the past that Palace have eased up once safe and that should be a concern for anyone looking to back them.
Spurs have plenty more to play for – they are only inside the European spots on goal difference with Aston Villa breathing down their neck.
Still, at a shade of odds-on, it’s hard to be too enthused by Spurs given recent results but there are other ways of getting them onside. For find out which, read on.

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace best bets
Tottenham over 1.5 goals
Spurs may have had a rough time of it of late but they’ve still been scoring goals and backing them for at least two here looks good business.
They put four past Palace in the reverse fixture and have beaten them 3-0, 4-1 and 4-0 at home in the last three seasons.
Tottenham have scored 2+ in eight of their nine games at home to the other sides in the bottom half of the table so 4/5 about them doing so again here looks worth backing.

Harry Kane to score at anytime
Where would Spurs be without Kane?
In a season in which Erling Haaland has set a new Premier League record, it’s easy to forget Kane has 25 league goals and could yet hit the 30 mark for only the second time in his career.
The England captain has scored in eight of his last 10 games for club and country, while he also has an excellent record against Palace, scoring seven goals in his last six appearances versus the Eagles, including in January’s meeting at Selhurst Park.
The anytime bet looks a solid one but for anyone seeking something bigger, consider Kane to score a header at 11/2. His goal in the reverse fixture came via this method and he has a league-leading nine headed goals so far this term.

Back Kane to score at any time at 10/11 at bet365
Eberechi Eze 1+ shot on target
Eze is on a fine run of landing this bet, doing so in his last seven appearances.
That run more or less began when Roy Hodgson was appointed manager which is no co-incidence.
Hodgson has trusted Eze with a more central role than Patrick Vieira usually did and he’s therefore got into better shooting positions.
With Tottenham having been poor defensively of late, he can land this again on Saturday.
