- Jessie says the procedure has been her ‘biggest regret’
A young woman who had a cosmetic procedure to enhance her appearance has been left with bulging bumps on the sides of her forehead.
Jessie Carr, from Sydney, paid $2,000 for a fox eye thread lift in October 2021 but was left extremely disappointed with the end result.
The procedure helps create an appealing ‘fox eye’ look by lifting the corners of the eyebrows, but a few weeks after Jessie noticed the threads were visible.
The 21-year-old shared her experience in a series of TikTok videos and eventually had the threads removed.

‘I can’t take myself seriously,’ she captioned one TikTok video, then added: ‘It’s definitely not worth it, it doesn’t work and it left me looking botched like this!’
The procedure involves inserting biodegradable threads under the skin to lift the eyebrows and is raved about by celebrities.
But Jessie never expected the choice to have the procedure would turn into a nightmare.
‘I can’t take myself seriously,’ she captioned one TikTok video, then added: ‘It’s definitely not worth it, it doesn’t work and it left me looking botched like this!’
After the threads were inserted Jessie started swelled intensely, claiming this remained for two weeks.
Once the swelling went down and any bruising healed, her eyebrows looked lifted, which only remained for a short period of time.
‘Then I started noticing my eyebrows were completely uneven,’ she said in a second video.
Eight weeks later both eyebrows had ‘dropped’ back to the original position.
‘I had [the] lumps on my face but they didn’t poke out that much and didn’t look inflamed,’ she said.
Over time the threads progressively got ‘worse and worse’ to the point where they were completely visible and sticking out entirely.

When she returned to the doctor, surgeons gave Jessie two options – the first to remove the threads surgically or to ‘dissolve’ the threads using an alternative method known as Ultaformer.
Jessie chose the second option rather than surgery.
She said if she pressed hard enough on the threads she could feel ‘liquid transferring from side to side.’
Jessie also received a partial refund of $1100 and is currently in the process of having the threads removed.
Her series of TikTok videos have gone viral attracting thousands of views and her experience is a reminder to ‘never’ have the procedure done.
