    MOUR PREM RAID

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has emerged as a transfer target for Jose Mourinho's Roma, according to reports.

The 30-year-old has reportedly been highlighted as a replacement to Edin Dzeko who is closing to joining Inter to replace Lukaku.

The Frenchman has just a year left on his contract, with the North Londoners said to be keen on cashing in this summer.

But the main stumbling block is Lacazette's reported desire to play Champions League football.

And with Roma set to compete in the new Uefa Conference League, the prospect isn't said to be an attractive one to the ex-Lyon man.

    LONDON CALLING

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly set to battle it out for the signature of Bordeaux man Yacine Adli.

According to FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna, both clubs are preparing an opening offer for the 21-year-old midfielder.

But they will have to get a move on if they want to get a deal over the line, with AC Milan said to have already submitted a bid for the French attacking midfielder.

The Italian giants have reportedly made an offer in the region of £10million for Adli – with a 10-per-cent sell on fee included in the deal – but Bordeaux are holding out for a higher fee, giving the two North London rivals time to ready their bids.

French Ligue 1 champions Lille are also interested in Adli as they look for a replacement for Renato Sanches, should he leave the club.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Arteta said: “In terms of preparation, we have done everything we could.

“With all the difficulties we’ve had with this Covid world and surprises but I think we improved a lot as a team and we worked on a lot of things.

Newcastle are closing in on a £22million deal for Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock.

The 21-year-old was missing from the Gunners’ final pre-season game against Spurs on Sunday despite training with the squad on Saturday.

Willock had a successful five-month loan spell at Newcastle last season and manager Steve Bruce is desperate to secure a permanent transfer.

And he is cautiously confident of sealing a deal before Sunday’s Premier League opener against West Ham as Arsenal look to bring in some cash.

And according to the Mirror, Silva could be available after Jack Grealish’s £100m move to Man City.

Silva, however, is believed to be keen on a move to Spain with both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona interested in signing him.

      TAM'S UP

Tammy Abraham is set to leave Chelsea with the club closing in on a deal for Romelu Lukaku.

The Blues made Abraham available for transfer earlier this summer but so far no club has met their £40million asking price.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the striker, 23, and he was believed to be keen on joining the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s side have maintained their interest in Abraham, as have West Ham, according to the Daily Mail.

And they are reportedly joined by Southampton and Atalanta, which means Abraham could have a number of offers to choose from.

Chelsea only want to let Abraham leave on a permanent basis.

Abraham will drop further down the pecking order if Lukaku arrives so he could be keen on a Premier League switch or a move to Atalanta.

Chelsea are believed to have offered Abraham to Borussia Dortmund as part of a deal to sign Erling Haaland, which fell flat.

      WHITE NOISE

Arsenal defender Ben White produced an impressive performance in his first North London Derby on Sunday.

Here are some of the centre-back's best moments.

        BEN OUT OF TEN

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was very pleased with £50million man Ben White's first start in a Gunners shirt.

The 23-year-old played just over an hour in the 1-0 defeat to Spurs on Sunday, but the score was level when White was replaced by Calum Chambers.

And on Ben White's performance, the Arsenal boss said: "He was really good. But again, it’s a match where they haven’t played.

"Some of them they’ve [only] trained for four or five days.

"So you can still see and we didn’t want to risk many more, but it was a good start.

"To lose any game [and] to lose against them obviously even more.

"Take the positives and learn and for the next time be more prepared and better.

"We took a lot of good things. We played with a lot of kids as well who did extremely well today, so I think it’s good for the preparation."

        MADDISON LATEST

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has compared Arsenal target James Maddison to new Manchester City signing Jack Grealish.

After beating City in the Community Shield, Rodgers said: "I think they are both close. They are both very talented players.

"Stylistically, I think they’re the same. They are both creators… One is a dribbler – one commits people down the sides.

"James is more central and he’s more of a passer. So yes, they are both creative players but stylistically they are both very different.

"Everyone could see today how hard James works for the team, his quality and how he takes the ball. His eye for the last pass.
