BBC lose sound and images for Wales vs Turkey as viewers complain of ‘glitching’ and ‘woeful’ coverage

VIEWERS bemoaned the BBC’s ‘woeful’ coverage of Wales vs Turkey as images and audio went down several times.

The camera feed from the Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan was interrupted by ‘glitching’ during the first half, causing the screen to go blank.

Fans at home were then treated to double vision of Gareth Bale and Co.

And things got worse as the audio cut out entirely.

Twitter’s football army was soon out in full force to moan about the coverage.

One person said: “This BBC Wales/Turkey coverage is a mess.”

Another wrote: “These cameras are shocking, feels like the 80s.”

One tweeted: “The coverage of Turkey vs Wales is woeful.”

Another added: “This would never happen during an England match.”

But BBC presenter Gabby Logan claimed at half-time: “These pictures come from Uefa’s headquarters. They control the feed.”

'TIME BOMB'

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for the Welsh as they took a well-earned lead moments before the break through Aaron Ramsey.

The Juventus star was guilty of missing two huge chances earlier on, but he made up for his mistakes by latching on to a superb assist from Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale in the 42nd minute.

Earlier today, the BBC refused to show footage of Russia star Mario Fernandes being treated after being criticised for airing graphic images of Christian Eriksen being resuscitated.

Last week, the Beeb were forced to apologise after broadcasting shocking footage of the Denmark star, 29, being treated after suffering a cardiac arrest.

And on Wednesday, during Russia’s Group B clash with Finland, the BBC ensured they didn’t make the same mistake again after Fernandes picked up a nasty injury.

Fernandes landed awkwardly on his back and needed a stretcher to get off the pitch in Russia’s second injury blow of the tournament after Yuri Zhirkov was ruled out.

After being treated by medics he left the pitch fully conscious and was taken to hospital with a suspected spinal injury.

The BBC refused to show what was happening, in case it was more serious than first appeared.
