'Don't call it boxing' – Frank Warren says Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury 'isn't even 'white-collar level' ahead of huge bout | The Sun

FRANK WARREN has played down the boxing quality of Jake Paul and Tommy Fury ahead of their much-anticipated fight.

The fight – billed as The Truth – will take place between the two on Sunday at the Diriyah Arena, Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

They are set for eight scheduled rounds at a catchweight of 185lb.

Paul, 26, goes into the fight as a YouTuber turned boxer and has won all six of his fights.

Fury, 23, – the brother of icon Tyson Fury – has won eight of eight fights.

Both of them have won by knockout on four occasions.

However, boxing promoter Warren is not impressed with the quality of them and he suggested that the bout between the two has the attention it does because of who they are, rather than their ability.

He told The George Groves Boxing Club: "If it weren't for the fact of that [who they are] it would be an eight round fight on a card.

"But it is because of who they are. So don't call it boxing. I don't even think it is even like white collar boxing as such.

"It's like you could do it with another reporter. Anybody could do it. I mean, I'm a bit older now but maybe when I was younger another promoter we'd settle it that way.

"And people buy into it. Is t good? Is it right? They are making a lot of money.

"Tommy is making a huge of money which is brilliant for him, it is life changing money based upon his ability, I can't knock that. I can't knock it.

"As to the levels it is at, it is the level it is. I know a lot of boxers who look at that or former boxers that might look at that and say 'how come they are getting and I'm not?'.

"Well they are capitalising on their notoriety. And so that is what it is.

"Is it the way boxing is going to go? No."
