POTTERMAN (1.50 Wincanton, nap)

He was an excellent second in this race 12 months ago and is only 1lb higher in the handicap today.

He goes well fresh and decent ground suits well.

SCEAU ROYAL (3.00 Wincanton, nb)

He has won the past two runnings of this and can land the hat-trick for trainer Alan King.

This classy 10-year-old usually makes a flying start to the season and this year is no different as he landed a Kempton Listed hurdle by an impressive ten lengths last month.

SENIOR CITIZEN (2.11 Aintree, treble)

He loves these big fences and can go one better than his second in this race 12 months ago.

He has since jumped around again in the Topham and this trip and ground are ideal.

AINTREE

1.01

DEISE ABA has not run over hurdles since his neck second in this race 12 months ago and he can go close again.

He has plenty of staying power and won’t mind if the ground eases further. He is on a lower mark over these smaller obstacles.

Milan Bridge will be over fences soon but has won three of his four hurdles runs and looks a threat.

He doesn’t want it bottomless so watch the skies but is well weighted and looks a big threat.

Remastered was third in this race 12 months ago and is 1lb lower in the weights now.

He was last seen running here in a Grade 3 and won’t be far away.

Gericault Roque was second in the Ultima Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last time but has talent over these smaller obstacles too and has few miles on the clock so can improve.

Johnson’s Blue is rising through the ranks and had ten lengths in hand when scoring at Cartmel. This is much tougher but he has more to offer.

Flight Deck is another who can improve but is up in class so needs to.

2.11

SENIOR CITIZEN loves these big fences and can go one better than his second in this race 12 months ago.

He has since jumped around again in the Topham and this trip and ground are ideal.

Lifetime Ambition looks a danger for Jessica Harrington. He has Graded winning form on his CV and went close in a good race at Punchestown last time out.

Two For Gold ran well for a long way in the Grand National before his stamina gave out in the final mile or so.

He tacked the fences well and this shorter distance should be right up his street.

Paul Nicholls thinks a lot of Broken Halo who would be helped by more rain as he loves it testing.

The handicapper hasn’t clobbered him despite a couple of decent wins.

Spiritofthegames doesn’t win as often as he should be he’s a regular in the frame.

He is fit from a run around Fakenham and got round the course when fifth in the Topham at the Grand National meeting.

Cooper’s Cross is a good jumper with an each-way shout.

2.45

LANGER DAN landed a right gamble at the Grand National meeting here last time when he really enjoyed this flat track.

He won’t mind if the ground gets testing and can run another big race for the Skeltons.

Brewin’upastorm won this at a canter last season and is a major danger.

His form tailed off as the season went on but he was tackling much stronger company than this.

He’s had a wind op ahead of this comeback and goes well fresh.

Dashel Drasher is a Grade 1 winner over fences but landed a decent pot over hurdles at Newbury last season.

He will get his own way in this small field and could fight them off.

Voix Du Reve is picking up almost three grand for finishing fourth but it would be a surprise if he got any closer than that.

DONCASTER

12.50

ART POWER got the worst of the draw in the Champions Sprint at Ascot and can strike again on this big drop in class.

He was brilliant when taking a Curragh Group 3 in the mud and should get his ideal conditions here.

Summerghand just got the better of Commanche Falls in a good race at Ascot last time and they are both in the mix again.

Tarhib was impressive when winning a hot handicap at Nottingham over 5f last week and William Haggas continues in excellent form.

He has scored over this trip too and looks a live danger.

Chipstead is another who has been flying in lesser grades and had lots in hand at Catterick last time.

He’s got an each-way chance upped in distance at a course he likes.

1.30

SWEET BELIEVER had to switch across the track before finishing second in the red-hot Balmoral Handicap at Ascot last month.

She managed to hit the front inside the final furlong but couldn’t hold off the winner.

She should have no issue with this step up in trip and likes give in the ground.

Something Enticing was second in this race 12 months ago and has been lightly raced since.

She ran her best race of the season when second at Newmarket last time and can go close again.

Life Of Dreams went close in a French Group 3 last time out in August after finishing fifth in the Ribblesdale Stakes at the Royal meeting.

That was just her fourth run and she’s a major danger dropping in class. She just has to prove her liking for this softer ground.

Darmoiselle is another with few mile on the clock and she went close over much further at Lingfield when in front for a long way.

She won’t lack for stamina and is capable of better.

Moon De Vega has only run once since her Oaks eighth and is another with more to offer.

3.13

ISRAR looks like a Group horse in the making and was impressive when winning over course and distance 14 days ago.

He relished the testing ground there and a 7lb rise in the weights shouldn’t be enough.

He showed his liking for a big field when third in the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot and has much more to offer.

Farhan won this 12 months ago and is interesting on debut for new trainer Philip Kirby.

It was soft ground when he won and he’s a fair 6lb higher when you account for his rider’s claim.

He was as good as ever when scoring at York’s Ebor meeting two runs ago and will be competitive.

Nathanael Greene looked a nice prospect when winning at Haydock in July and came back from a break with a good fourth at York. He stays 1m6f and it will feel like that far in these tough conditions.

First Officer likes the mud and was beaten on the nod here 15 days ago. He can figure from just 2lb higher.

Tritonic battled well to beat Goshen at Goodwood last month. He stays well and handles the ground so is shortlisted.

WINCANTON

12.40

SABRINA can win this race named in memory of Richard Barber.

He and Paul Nicholls had great success with the likes of See More Business and Sabrina went close at Newton Abbot on comeback.

She’ll be fitter for that and has gone well here before. Her rider’s 10lb claim is another plus.

Wynn House won this 12 months ago and is back from the same handicap mark.

She goes well fresh and seems to handle any ground.

Lady Adare has won all four starts to date and was impressive when scoring by 16 lengths at Taunton last time out in February.

Harry Fry raises her in class here but she’s clearly going places and should stay this trip.

Rose Of Arcadia was good at Chepstow but could do with some rain as she has plenty of stamina.

1.15

SEBASTOPOL is experienced for a novice and can put that to good use.

He landed a Listed contest at Chepstow before a solid spin over timber at Kempton.

He has won here before and should have no issues with this trip.

Mcfabulous is the big danger on this belated chase debut. He is a multiple Grade 2 winner over hurdles so has plenty of class and Paul Nicholls says his schooling at home has been good.

Hang In There went nicely through the novice ranks and something went wrong when he was pulled up at Cheltenham last month.

Assuming he’s over that, he has talent and likes this trip. This is his toughest race to date though so needs more.

1.50

POTTERMAN can be hit and miss but on a going day he’s well up to this standard.

He was an excellent second in this race 12 months ago and is only 1lb higher in the handicap today.

He goes well fresh and decent ground suits well.

This is a much easier race than Frodon is used to and he has had some help from the handicapper.

He was good enough to win a Grade 1 in Ireland this time last year and this may be the right time to catch him.

This trip and track suit well and he’s had a wind operation ahead of this comeback.

Enrilo finished just one of his three races last season which means he’s down the weight that saw him beaten less than a length in the Bet365 Gold Cup in 2021.

He’s another who has had a breathing op and he’s run well here before.

Lord Accord has already won this season and had plenty in hand at Cheltenham two Saturdays ago.

This is tougher and he won’t get his own way up front with Frodon in the field.

Cap Du Nord was placed in this last year and is on a fair weight so could pull off the same feat.

Rocco was a shock winner 12 months ago but has not beat a horse home in three races since then.

2.25

PAUL Nicholls has won this seven times in the past nine years and can scoop the prize again with HUGOS NEW HORSE.

He was a Worcester bumper winner and showed promise on his hurdles debut when second at Chepstow.

He was very green there and should take a major step forward.

Trolley Boy won’t be a pushover. He was second in bumper bumper debut at Market Rasen before battling to score at Newcastle.

He built on that when winning on his first spin over hurdles at Worcester in July. He showed good pace to come from a long way back there and looks capable of winning more races.

Ilanz is another who scored in a National Hunt Flat race and looked very inexperienced on hurdles debut at Stratford last week.

He’ll build on that but needs a fair bit more against the two market leaders.

Inspector Lynley didn’t show a lot in two bumpers so is entitled to need this, while stablemate Blue Suede Shoes was well off the pace last time and is hard to fancy.

3.00

SCEAU ROYAL has won the past two runnings of this and can land the hat-trick for trainer Alan King.

This classy 10-year-old usually makes a flying start to the season and this year is no different as he landed a Kempton Listed hurdle by an impressive ten lengths last month.

It’s the same race he won before coming and taking this 12 months ago and it will take a huge effort to stop him repeating the feat.

Knappers Hill is the one to fear after he took another big step forward when winning the Silver Trophy at Chepstow last time out.

He looked to have a bit up his sleeve and deserves this crack at stronger company.

He gets 6lb from the tip that will bring them closer together.

Milkwood was second in the 2021 Galway Hurdle and has only run four times since.

He took a tumble in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock but bounced back with a solid second in the Welsh Champion Hurdle last month.

He needs a sgtep forward at this level but isn’t out of it.

Knight Salute dead-heated in an Aintree Grade 1 in April so has loads of class.

He needed his comeback at Cheltenham and should be open to improvement as a four-year-old. He has a chance too in a real cracker.
