NEWCASTLE’S win over Crystal Palace saw them match a club record set EIGHTEEN years ago.
Miguel Almiron’s 32nd minute strike sealed a 1-0 win for the Magpies over Palace at St James’ Park.
The result effectively confirmed Newcastle’s Premier League safety following an incredible turnaround under Eddie Howe.
And St James’ Park is quickly becoming a fortress for the Toon, with last night’s win their SIXTH successive home victory.
It started with a win over fellow stragglers Everton, with Toon then triumphing against Aston Villa and Brighton.
Wolves and Leicester were the next to fall on Tyneside, with Palace becoming the sixth consecutive loser last night.

The last time Newcastle had the same success was way back in the 2003/04 campaign.
Sir Bobby Robson was their boss at the time, leading the club to a fifth-place finish.
