A HAPLESS rugby team without a win all season lost their latest game by a British record 190-0.
Kirkby Lonsdale’s first XV conceded a staggering 30 tries during the drubbing by Blackburn — more than one every three minutes.
The team have now lost all 19 of their league matches, conceding a staggering 1,423 points.
Other results in the Regional 1 North West division this season include an 118-3 loss to leaders Lymm and 106-14 to Sandbach.
But the battling rugby union club refuse to be downbeat.
After the match, they posted online: “No matter the score, we are proud of all those lads that pulled on a Kirkby shirt today.
"As a club and as a team we have brighter days in front of us. We go again next week.”
The latest result topped the previous British record set in December 1996 when Norwich defeated Eccles and Attleborough in a cup match 177-3.
And it only just missed out on being a world record scoreline, currently held by a Danish game in 1973 that ended 194-0.
Despite the place in the record books, Blackburn coach Dino Radice, 47, said he did not enjoy the game against the Cumbrians.
