PAUL POGBA needs a fresh start and should swap Manchester United for a club that matches his ambitions, according to Olivier Dacourt.
The Red Devils midfielder is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
SunSport exclusively revealed earlier this month how United have offered him a new deal, but the player hasn't yet decided whether he will extend his stay.
Should the France international decide to move on, he will have no shortage of suitors with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus keeping tabs on him.
And former Leeds star Dacourt, who won the Serie A title twice with Inter Milan, says new surroundings could be exactly what his compatriot needs.
Commenting on whether now is the best time to depart the Theatre of Dreams, he told SunSport via freebets.com: "Manchester United are one of the biggest teams in the world.
"But when you play so many years for one club, sometimes you need change to progress as a footballer.
"You get into bad habits, do the same things over and over again and can end up just going through the motions.

"If Paul decides to leave Manchester United, he needs to join a big club that matches his ambitions and who can give him a real challenge."
PSG are claimed to be leading the race to prise Pogba away from England should he decide to leave in the summer.
Dacourt however is unsure whether Les Parisiens are in for the World Cup winner.
Discussing the PSG rumours, he added: "I'm not sure really.
"These days every player wants to join PSG as they've got the money, they've got the ambition, they've got the ability to win the Champions League.
"PSG can't sign everyone though, so I'm not sure he's on their radar."
Pogba is currently out injured on the sidelines with a hamstring problem, with his last appearance coming in the 5-0 defeat against Liverpool in October.
