Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino interested in £10million-rated Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is keen on bringing £10million-rated Argentinian defender Juan Foyth to White Hart Lane this summer.

The 19-year-old has caught the Spurs boss' eye after breaking into Estudiantes' first-team in the Argentinian top flight in 2017.

Tottenham are yet to make any signings since finishing as runners up to Premier League champions Chelsea but they have singled out Foyth as their target, according to the Mirror.

Foyth's agent is former Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron and he is set to hold talks with Spurs ahead of a potential move for his client.

Foyth is willing to turn down interest from Russia to complete a move to the English top flight.

He said: “I would like to play in Europe, and if something comes up that convinces me and the club I will go.

“My agent never told me that an offer had arrived from Zenit. I would not go to Russia right now.

“If I do go it is not because I want to, but rather to help the club out economically.”

Tottenham have been previously linked with Swansea defender Alfie Mawson and Middlesbrough's vice captain Ben Gibson.

Pochettino is currently considering replacements for Kevin Wimmer, who is expected to depart White Hart Lane in this window.
