NEWCASTLE UNITED’S Bruno Guimaraes needed just a 17-minute cameo for Brazil to get his new adoring Toon Army excited about his arrival.
The 24-year-old Brazilian was the marquee signing as Magpies boss Eddie Howe boosted their survival hopes with five new January transfer signings.
The midfielder arrived from Lyon for £43million before the window shut and last night Newcastle supporters got their first glimpse of the Samba star.
Guimaraes came off the bench to play a role in Brazil’s World Cup qualifying win over Paraguay.
And despite only getting a brief run out, he was still able to get an assist for their final goal as he was fed the ball by Antony, who got the third, before sliding it across the box for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo to tap home.
Leeds United’s Raphinha opened the scoring before Aston Villa’s on-loan Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho got the second.
Responding to Guimaraes’ impact, one fan tweeted: “I love him already.”
Another said: “Brilliant signing. Can’t wait to watch him.”

While a fellow supporter, in reference to Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes, commented: “The best Bruno in the league.”
Guimaraes is now heading to the North East to meet his new teammates for the first time.
And he will be hoping to make his debut for Newcastle in Howe’s new-look side against Everton on February 8.
