Alex Jones and Ronan Keating were back on Thursday night to host the final The One Show of the year. The duo welcomed several guests onto the BBC programme including Rob Brydon and Ralf Little. However, at the beginning of the programme, Alex addressed her outfit, telling Ronan she was “dressed like a turkey in foil”.
The presenter, who donned a sparkly dress, went on to tell viewers that they were taking a break for Christmas and would be back in the New Year.
“Hello there and welcome to The One Show live on BBC One and iPlayer with Ronan Keating,” Alex began.
“Yes and Alex Jones, now it is our last show tonight,” Ronan continued as she addressed their outfits.
“I went for, you know, cosy Christmas and Al you went [for] a Christmas party.”
“I mean some would say I’ve gone over the top,” the host replied before adding: “But it is our last show.”
“Not at all,” Ronan disagreed. “You look gorgeous.”
Poking fun at her sparkly dress, Alex joked: “I am dressed like a turkey in foil.”
Ronan laughed as he discussed what viewers could expect from the final show.
Viewers were also left distracted by Alex’s choice of outfit, with many taking to social media to compliment how good she looked.
User @_AnthonyByrne penned: “I am watching the last @BBCTheOneShow of this year.
“My views on @ronanofficial and Alex Jones dress up for this evening.
“Ronan. You look like a chilled man and Alex. You look like you are ready to go to the ball. Have a really great Christmas, and enjoy.” (sic)
Peter replied: “She looks sensational in that dress. Although to be fair she’d look good in a bin bag.”
While Gary added: “Alex has to get the best presenter award soon she brightens up every episode she’s on.”
“Alex looks stunning tonight,” viewer Ann went on to praise.
Towards the end of the programme, Alex and Ronan spoke with Death in Paradise star Ralf Little.
After playing a clip from the Christmas special, the duo spoke with the Neville Parker star about what fans can expect.
The actor went on to tease a “surprise” guest appearance from Les Dennis in the festival instalment.
“Les came out and he was absolutely brilliant,” he explained before adding: “He was having a lot of fun.”
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
