He also gushed about receiving the doctorate, captioning the post: "An absolute honour to receive an honorary doctorate for services to broadcasting from the wonderful University of Bolton this afternoon.
"I don't have a degree, and always thought one day perhaps I'd have one… but to receive this honour today made me so emotional."
Owain, who raised over £3million after completing a 24-hour drum-athon for BBC Children in Need in 2021, also continued his fundraising while attending the graduation ceremony.
He added in the caption: "Plus, I was asked to do a surprise drum solo with the University, donating £10 for every hit of the kit I did (so of course, I made it epic whilst wearing my robes). Thank you @boltonuni."
Owain also shared further snaps from the big day in his Instagram post, including one showing the presenter sat with fellow honorary graduates and members of the university, while a separate photograph showed him smiling for the camera before the ceremony.
Fans also flocked to the comments to congratulate the star on receiving the honorary doctorate, with one saying: "Congratulations @owainwynevans! What fabulous photos! Hope you can celebrate this evening xx."
A second said: "You deserve this Owain, you are truly amazing on the drums," while a third added: "Omg huge congratulations. You look amazing in your robes," followed by two love hearts.
"You make me smile, congratulations lovely person arise Dr Owain Wyn Evans," said a fourth.
A fifth also commented: "Congratulations. You look fabulous as always."
