Iain Dale and Jacqui Smith joined Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain to discuss the news headlines. When the discussion was brought to a close, Ben thanked Iain for his interview with Kate on his LBC radio show. However, when the broadcaster attempted to reply, he was cut off, leading to Ben apologising for the mistake.
Ben said: “Thank you for looking after Kate because I know she popped in and you rather lovely looked after her and did an interview with her on your radio show.”
Iain replied: “I did and if you want to watch it, it’s an hour long, it’s on Youtube just go to the LBC Youtube channel. She was brilliant as you would expect.”
“Well you helped to make the book do well so thank you very much for that,” Kate quipped.
“I was actually meant to be there for 10 minutes but it went on for an hour.”
“Oh really?” Ben remarked. “Great to see you both thank you.”
Iain could be heard speaking in the background as Kate continued: “Just what Ben wants, an hour of me.”
Realising their mistake, Ben apologised: “We just cut Iain off, sorry Iain we lost you there.
“We’ll find out what Iain was going to say next week when he’s in the studio.”
