Daily Star TV gives you all the latest interviews and spoilers and Ed Gleave will send you telly’s hot takes straight to your inbox every Sunday

Good Morning Britain opened up with a bitter banter session between Charlotte Hawkins and Laura Tobin.

The weather forecaster was talking about starting her Christmas shopping on Tuesday's show, which prompted Charlotte to ask her to get her something "nice".

The presenter said: "Ooh, get me something nice!"

To which, Laura replied: "Okay, wonderful, I can get you something for your face to improve it."

Shocked by her cutting comment, Charlotte looked bewildered as Laura moved on to her weather segment.

After she finished her forecast, Laura came back in to say that she would in fact get Charlotte something nice.

Although the mood was jokey between the GMB ladies, it appeared that Charlotte wasn't best pleased with the digs.

Biting back, she said: "Oh yeah, try to make it up now… We might have some technical issue with you later, and you will have to stop me from pulling out the cables."

Laura then quickly left the show, with producers cutting her segment very quickly.

Charlotte then added: "Unfortunately she's gone, what a shame, that will teach you."

This comes a day after Ed Balls took a seat on the ITV morning show to kick off his new job on the daytime show and it got off to a banter-filled start.

Susanna Reid welcomed Ed onto the show and introduced him to viewers at home, while also chatting to regular faces on the programme, journalists Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire.

The broadcaster sat next to GMB veteran Susanna on Monday morning and chatted to the guest journalists on the show about his new appointment.

Daily Mirror associate editor Kevin then chimed in to reveal that he already knew Ed from back in the day.

Kevin said: "I played football against him, he's quite a clogger really arent you? You get stuck in."

Ed replied: "I'm a direct old-fashioned centre forward – there'd be no place for me in the modern Premier League."

To which Kevin responded: "It would be a red card in the first 15 minutes with your elbows and your boots going."
