Coronation Street: Faye comes face to face with daughter Miley
Coronation Street star Ellie Leech played the role of troubled teen Faye Windass for 12 years and recently claimed it was the “best years of my life” ahead of her exit.
Faye left last month after deciding to rekindle her relationship with ex-boyfriend Jackson Hodge (played by Joseph William Evans) and to be a mother to her daughter Miley Jackson (Frankie-Jae Simmonds).
As she got in a taxi and left behind her then-fiance Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), the heartbreaking scenes saw Craig walk back to their flat alone.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press about what it was like working on the show and if she remembered her first scenes, she described her time as the “best” of her life.
She revealed: “I think my first scene was on location and we were in this house where Faye had been fostered.

“She was with this lady and Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) and Eddie Windass (Steve Huison) came with a cake and she was like ‘I don’t like cake’.
“Then because she was apprehensive of new people, she was like ‘I don’t want to speak to you, I don’t want to eat your cake’ and then when she warmed up to it, she was like ‘Can I have some cake now?’
“But yeah it is crazy to watch because you don’t realise, I was so little, just so young and small and little pigtails in and a little headband.
“It is crazy to think back and it was 12 years ago, it feels like forever but also so so fast. It has honestly been the best experience.

“I can’t thank everyone here enough because everyone here has always made me feel so welcome and it has just been so lovely.
“I have honestly loved it and it has been the best years of my life.”
Ellie also touched on what it was like filming her final scenes with Colson in the street and said it was “very emotional”.
She added: “It was very emotional, very emotional. Obviously, it is Faye leaving the street after 12 years but it is also me leaving the street after 12 years as well.
“So yeah, I think the saddest part of the scene is in the taxi and we see Craig on his own walking up the street.
“It was so emotional and I think you kind of do see that there are two people who do love each other but love isn’t always enough.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
