Coronation Street: Evelyn reunited with Cerberus the dog
Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) could find himself in deep trouble after trying to help friend Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman).
Fans of the ITV show will know Evelyn adores dogs and was left heartbroken when her beloved pet Cerberus died earlier this year.
Although she hasn’t replaced her furry four-legged companion, she’s helped Roy look after his pooch Freddie from time to time.
However, it looks as though Evelyn’s love for dogs, along with her no-nonsense attitude, may backfire.
In upcoming scenes, the Weatherfield resident witnesses a man mistreating his dog on the streets and remonstrates with him.

Seeing the whole ordeal, Roy quickly comes to Evelyn’s aid to help, but he’s left terrified when Terry, the dog owner, turns on him instead.
Coming to her mum’s rescue, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) arrives as Roy films Terry and the dog on Evelyn’s phone.
Later on, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) decides to report Terry to the police after learning what happened earlier in the day.
Although the situation doesn’t end there as Evelyn can’t shake the idea of the poor dog alone with the horrible man.

At the charity shop, she spots Terry pulling up outside, leaving his dog all alone in the van.
Hearing him whimpering, she decides to take action and returns home with the dog in tow.
Will her actions have serious consequences? And what will Terry do once he finds out she’s taken his dog?
It looks as though this storyline is set to take a serious turn as Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod stated it will explore the relationship between Evelyn and Cassie further.
He told RadioTimes: “It’s an opportunity to explore their dynamic as they find themselves on the same team for the most part in this story.
“Cassie, as is her preference, takes things too far, which causes some serious strife for Evelyn, that threatens to set their relationship back again.
“But by the end of it all, they’ve achieved a new kind of level of equilibrium, new understanding of each other and to some extent, got to know each other as grownups for the first time.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
