Dotty Cotton (played by Milly Zero) hasn’t had it easy in the past couple of months as ex-boyfriend Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) split up with her after learning about her affair with Keegan Butcher-Baker (Zack Morris) in BBC soap EastEnders. She also ran into trouble with Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith), attacking her during a boxing class after letting her anger build over the affair. However, Dotty could soon be in for another surprise as her estranged mother is set to return to Walford, but could she make life more difficult for Dotty?
In upcoming scenes, Dotty is stressed about her relaunch event at Ruby’s and struggles to find a DJ.
Rocky (Brian Conley) reassures her that he has a plan to get some money together before asking Vinny if he would help out, but he firmly denies the request.
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) soon chases up Dotty for a bill payment, however, she struggles to come up with the money, leaving Vinny to help.
Although he felt pity for his former girlfriend, he makes things clear to her that nothing has changed between them, and he is still heartbroken at what she did.

Excited about the relaunch, Rocky scored VIP tickets for himself and Sonia to Dotty’s noughties event at the club, reminding her she should be trying to impress Sonia.
However, things take a turn for the worse when a drunk woman appears at the event, leaving Rocky and Dotty in shock at the sight of the woman.
She interrupts Dotty and the drunk woman reveals herself – it’s Dotty’s mum Sandy who she hasn’t seen in years.
After hurling abuse at Dotty, she invited Sandy for a chat where Rocky insists she’ll blow their cover.
Later, Dotty arrives home to find Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) distraught as she blames Sandy for her engagement ring going missing.
Turning up drunk, Dotty’s estranged mother Sandy Gibson (Martha Cope) has seemingly returned to Walford, but what are her intentions?
Could this make things harder for Dotty and Rocky’s plan to scam Sonia out of her inheritance?
Or could she use her scheming mother to help with the plan, leaving them bonding as mother and daughter?
Viewers will remember that Rocky recently revealed he is the cousin of the late Nasty Nick and working with Dotty to scam Sonia out of her inheritance.
However, he has recently begun to have a second thought about their plan, telling Dotty they should scrap the plan and “do it legit.”
He admitted that he doesn’t want to hurt Sonia and said: “She just wants to see if you’re mature enough to handle the inheritance, she cares about you, she reckons you’re a good person deep down.”

The arrival of Sandy in Walford will cause a lot of friction for her daughter as she tries to keep on top of her life.
In the past, alcohol problems have led Sandy to have a short-lived relationship with the infamous Nick Cotton (John Altman), during which she fell pregnant with Dotty.
She told Nick about their daughter while he was in prison, and he took over custody of her upon his release.
Nick lied to Dotty about where her mother had gone and told her that she had died in a car crash.
Sandy’s last appearance on the Square was when Dot Cotton (June Brown) helped reunite the mother and daughter.
Speaking on her character’s return, Cope said: “I have watched EastEnders since it began, and I’m beyond excited to join such an iconic show and having a great time playing Sandy.”
Will her mother’s return force Dotty to confront everything that she has tried to leave behind in her past?
EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and Friday’s on BBC One.
