EastEnders airs special flashforward scene for Christmas 2023
Since Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) was lost at sea over Christmas, EastEnders fans have seen Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) struggle to manage The Queen Vic.
While her friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Nish (Navin Chowdhry) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) are all at war with one another to try and invest in the pub, little do they know Linda’s been coming up with a plan of her own.
In scenes set to air next week, Linda finds it hard to be honest with Sharon about her scheme as the Panesars continue to behave as though they’ve already got the deal.
Things then go from bad to worse for Linda when Mick’s presumption of death certificate arrives, causing her to break down.
However, as Suki overhears the news, she goes to tell Nish there are now no more obstacles standing in their way of sealing The Vic deal.
Although little do they know, Linda has them exactly where she wants them as the Vic owner explains to a mystery caller she’s only keeping them on the hook until cash is sorted.
It looks as though all the lying behind her friend’s back starts to take its toll when Sharon rallies to support Linda when she explains Mick’s death to Ollie, she’s left feeling awful.
Speaking to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), Linda admits she’s been keeping the truth from Sharon and Nish to keep them both on her side just in case her mystery buyer doesn’t pull through.
When Nish and Suki sweep in with their associates to show off their new acquisition, their bubble quickly bursts when Linda reveals she’s pulling out of the deal.

Suki is furious at the bombshell, while Nish calmly walks away as he tells her it’s just business.
Revealing all to Sharon, a huge fight breaks out between the two friends as she’s clearly hurt Linda has been lying to her all along.
Raging over the betrayal, their argument is soon interrupted when the doors of The Vic are thrown open to reveal the new co-owner of the pub, Linda’s mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
Making her presence felt in her new business from the start, Elaine quickly charms some punters while putting others in their place.
As Alfie advises Linda to speak to Sharon to try and mend their friendship, she agrees to hear her out after some persuasion, although any hopes of reconciliation may be futile.
When Nish meets Elaine, it’s clear his usual intimidation tactics aren’t working, something the businessman isn’t used to.
However, she’s left rattled later that night when both she and Linda hear noises in the night.
Going downstairs, they discover the bar has been trashed by mystery intruders with a glass flamingo that Nish previously gave to Linda pointedly left on the bar.
Has Linda potentially put herself in danger by crossing the Panesars? If so, how far could they be willing to go to take over The Vic?
