The 29-year-old actress is filming the second series of new crime drama The Offenders – as fans are still waiting to binge-watch the unreleased first series.
Her red hair straightened and combed forward in a fringe, the windswept Demelza look of the hit period drama has been left firmly in the 18th century.
And her stock dowdy gown is replaced with a floral blouse and dark skirt on the funfair set.
She plays Gabby, a troubled aristocratic social media “influencer” with a wild side.
The show is filming on location in Bristol with Hollywood legend Christopher Walken and writer Stephen Merchant also starring.
The Office creator Merchant was clowning about with a painted face, comedy nose and painted red lips. Walken, 78, plays Frank, “an inveterate scoundrel trying to reconnect with his family”.
The show focuses on seven strangers forced together to complete a community payback sentence and series one will air this autumn on the BBC.
Eleanor has said of her character: “Gabby is a social media influencer with a drink and drug problem. She’s wild and uncontrollable and — without being unkind — blissfully unaware of the lives of others, making her outrageously funny to play.”
The forthcoming series was delayed by Covid. Merchant, who comes from Bristol, said: “I’m delighted that we’re now finally able to resume filming with this incredible cast and finish this long-standing passion project.
“This is the first series I’ve made in my home town and I’m so excited to showcase the city and utilise the amazing local talent.”
