Amy Walsh describes her guilt for leaving children for Emmerdale
Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) is left at his wit’s end by Gail’s (Rachael Gill-Davis) incompetence in the Woolpack’s kitchen in upcoming Emmerdale scenes.
However, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) ignores Marlon’s pleas to sack her despite sharing his concerns.
The following day, Charity grows increasingly uneasy at Gail’s escalating series of errors and makes the decision to let her go.
But Marlon’s relief is tempered as he knows he will be the person to deliver the bad news to Gail.
He accidentally ends up bonding with her over horror films instead of sacking her from the job.
Will the loveable character muster the courage to have the conversation he’s been avoiding with his endearing yet incompetent kitchen assistant?
Telling someone they are being fired is difficult at the best of times, and Marlon is not the best at confrontation.
Will he have a change of heart and give Gail another chance at the Woolpack?
If she doesn’t improve quickly, he will have to sack her as Charity has made it clear she will not be the person having that conversation with Gail.

Marlon returned to work many months ago after recovering from a stroke last March.
He had Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) by his side following his stroke and they went on to get married last year.
The Emmerdale chef summoned the strength to walk down the aisle and exchange his vows with Rhona, which left villagers sobbing.
He has been slowly getting stronger each week and ended up being a rock for his best friend Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) when he attempted suicide.
Paddy has come a long way after battling severe depression and is lucky to have Marlon supporting him.
Marlon’s clearly got a lot of inner strength, so surely it cannot be that difficult to sack a colleague who is underperforming.
Hopefully, Marlon can find a more fitting replacement if he does let Gail go.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
