Emmerdale – Jai finds out he’s adopted
There’s a new arrival making their way into the Yorkshire Dales in upcoming episodes as the Sharma family is rocked by a family member’s presence.
As Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) is preparing for the wedding, his cousin Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) decides to turn up in the village for the celebrations.
It becomes clear that Jai’s father Rishi (Bhasker Patel) hasn’t seen his nephew for some time and is thrilled at the unannounced visit.
With Jai recently discovering that he’s adopted, Rishi is hoping Suni’s arrival will help fix their strained relationship.
Although it may be harder than he thinks as Jai is still reeling from the huge secret and isn’t speaking to Rishi.
However, as Rishi still refuses to admit who Jai’s real father is, Suni could play a key role in bringing peace to the family as the wedding looms.
Actor Brahm shared his enthusiasm at joining the ITV soap after watching it as a child.
He said: “I’m delighted to join the Emmerdale family. Having watched the show with my mum and dad growing up it feels surreal.
“I’m so grateful to everyone here for making me feel so welcome. Confident, magnetic and very fashion-conscious Suni looks forward to injecting some flair into the Emmerdale village.

Teasing what viewers can expect to see, it looks as though Suni could cause a stir with some of the residents.
Brahm added: “He’s not afraid to be his true self and go after what (and who) he wants.
“I think what Emmerdale does brilliantly is making sure there’s an accurate representation of real people and telling their authentic stories.
“Bringing a wonderful character like Suni to life on a continuing drama is incredibly important to me as it gives exposure to a demographic which is sadly still under-represented so I truly hope to do him justice, and thank Emmerdale and its fans for the privilege.”

Although there’s no confirmed date for Suni’s arrival, fans can expect to see him make his debut in the upcoming weeks.
Executive producer Jane Hudson hinted there could already be a romance for Suni as Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) sets his sights on the newcomer.
She said: “Suni arrives just in time for the wedding of his cousin Jai to Laurel but it’s Nicky who soon is making the most of his arrival.
“We are delighted to have Brahm join the Emmerdale family. He certainly hits the ground running as we throw him right into the heart of a big Sharma story.”
Emmerdale continues weekdays on ITV from 7:30pm
