Hollyoaks fans have been left inconsolable, as the Channel 4 soap has confirmed Sid Sumner (Billy Price) died after being stabbed by Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahony).
Sid was determined to bring down Victor from the inside, and thus get justice for Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw), Jordan Price (Connor Calland) and all the other kids involved in County Lines.
His mission went to plan — with some assistance from James (Gregory Finnegan) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) — and he acquired a confession from the drugs boss.
However, Victor got wind of what Sid was up to, and therefore he chased the young lad down, before stabbing him and taking the evidence.
Ste cradled Sid as he lay dying, and in tonight’s E4 first-look edition (March 3), he confirmed that Sid had, in fact, died in the wake of the stabbing.
Several of the soap’s mainstays struggled to process the news of the loveable lad’s passing, but they weren’t the only ones, as fans were distraught.
In fact, many upset viewers took to social media in the wake of tonight’s episode.
‘Can’t believe it, why Sid,’ one disgruntled viewer exclaimed.
Another added: ‘This is awful! Poor Sid. Ste is devastated’
One viewers even said they were ‘done with Hollyoaks’, as they vented their frustration at the soap’s decision to write Sid out: ‘I can’t believe you did it!!!!! How could you kill sid off!!’
‘Why would you kill off your best character?’ added another.
Hollyoaks continues Thursday March 4 at 7pm on E4.
