Aisling Franciosi played Lyanna Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones in season six. She later went on to reprise her role in the seventh series. However, it has now been confirmed that the Irish actress will be taking on the lead role of horror film, Stopmotion.
The 28-year-old will play the character of Ella Blake, a stop-motion animator struggling to control her demons after the loss of her mother.
The movie will see how Aisling’s character will take on the creation of a film that becomes the battleground for her sanity.
As Ella’s mind starts to unravel the characters in her project takes on a life of their own.
A transmission date for the psychological horror, which is being directed by Robert Morgan, is yet to be confirmed.
Fans will also recognise Aisling from The Fall, where she played Katie Benedetto alongside Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson.
She also played one of the nuns in the drama Black Narcissus.
In an interview with Ojinika Obiekwe on PIX11 News last year, the actress opened up about what it was like to play Lyanna in Game of Thrones.
She even admitted to the presenter that she had never seen Game of Thrones before she starred in it.
“I won’t lie I had never watched Game of Thrones before getting the part,” she confessed.
“I did a binge-watch and it was just so amazing and so many people have been so kind.
“I had like a small… it was like maximum exposure for minimum time.
“I think I was on screen for like, I don’t know, a total of five minutes maybe.”

She continued: “It was a huge spoiler part of the season. It was a huge story and people were just really kind.
“It was so cool to have been part of it and it was really exciting.”
Thanks to Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in his capacity as the Three-Eyed Raven, viewers discovered Lyanna was actually the mother to Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
Having spent his entire life thinking he was Ned Stark’s (Sean Bean) bastard son, he was actually revealed to be of the Targaryen bloodline.
Aisling’s character Lyanna – Ned’s sister – had fallen pregnant with Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding), with the pair marrying in secret.
Ned had kept up the facade to protect Jon – real name Aegon Targaryen – following the Targaryen’s exile and murderous eradication from Westeros.
This also meant Jon was in a relationship with his aunt thanks to his romance with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), which teed up an intriguing eighth and final season.
Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available to stream on NOW TV now.
