Love Island fans joke Laura Whitmore's got easiest job on TV as she lands £600k payday for just THREE visits to villa

HOST Laura Whitmore featured for about 33 minutes on this year's Love Island — despite getting paid £600,000 to present the show.

Laura, 36, managed to more than doubles her amount of time on the entire series during the final, in which she appeared for around 31 minutes.

Until the final Laura had only popped into the Majorca villa twice during this series and appeared for a total of 12 minutes.

Last month, The Sun revealed that Laura had so far banked a bumper £600,000 pay packet for just 11 minutes and 51 seconds of screen time.

At the time it meant she has so far been paid £50,000 a minute for her work on the main ITV2 show.

Usually, Love Island's presenter will be at some – but not all – of the dramatic re-couplings and dumpings around the firepit.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the star explained that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic had made it tricky for her to jet to Majorca as often as she'd like.

She said: "Logistically it's tougher than when I went out for the coupling up. The Balearic Islands were in amber so when I did that I had to isolate for five days, I'm not sure everyone knew that.

"I had to isolate five days on my return.

"Then [rules] went green, and now it's amber again, but I'm double vaxxed."

She went on to explain that presenting spin-off show Aftersun live from London each Sunday was also tricky, sharing: "That's another logistical nightmare, that we need to make sure that I'm always back in time for that.

“If I could, I'd probably just move into the villa, I mean who wouldn't?”

Fans couldn't believe Laura's eye watering pay cheque, with some labelling it 'the easiest job' on telly.

"Laura Whitmore has been paid £600k for presenting #LoveIsland this year and turned up to the villa THREE times. That’s the type of job I want tbh," wrote one fan on Twitter.

Another added: "Imagine that Laura Whitmore was paid £600k to present this years Love Island and has only entered the villa 3 times job well done lol."

And a third wrote: "So the winners win 50k But apparently Laura Whitmore was paid 600k to do love Island. My god if I had the money…. The things I could do."

Despite her lack of screentime, Laura has been busy away from the show.

She attended a star-studded event at Evian’s VIP Suite at Wimbledon this month — rubbing shoulders with the likes of Stormzy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jack Whitehall.

She also did an interview and cover shoot with glossy magazine Grazia.

Laura, married to the show’s narrator Iain Stirling, has put a number of ad posts on Instagram, including for Tourism Ireland.

She has also been promoting her book, No One Can Change Your Life Except For You.
