Sharing a photo of his in-laws, the Masterchef star, 59, posted a sweet tribute to his Instagram page, as he wrote: "Farewell Massimo Sterpini 1957 – 2023 my much loved father in law"
Fans were quick to share messages of condolences, with one writing: "Very sorry for your loss Gregg. Our thoughts are with you, Anna, Sid and all your family at this very sad time xx"
"Very sorry for your loss Gregg. Our thoughts are with you, Anna, Sid and all your family at this very sad time xx" added another.
And a third wrote: "My thoughts are with your wife and mother in law and you and all the family and friends at a very sad and heartbreaking time May he rest in paradise and shine bright in your hearts always."
"Ow no I’m so sorry for all your loss much love to Anna and her mum and little Sid my heart goes out to you in this difficult time xxx" commented a fourth.
Gregg and his wife Anna tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at Hever Castle in Kent in 2016, and welcomed their son Sid in May 2019.
And earlier this year Gregg credited Anna, 36, with "revolutionising" his life.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, he explained: "That young woman has absolutely revolutionised my life.
"(There are) 22 years between us, we’ve been together 10 years, we’ve got a little three-year-old boy called Sid and I want to be as fit and as healthy as I can for her and for the baby. She is beautiful and I do love her very much."
Anna is Gregg's fourth wife. He was just 24 when he married his first wife Christine; the couple wed in 1991 and celebrated with pie and mash at a local café. The marriage was short, lasting just six weeks.
Two years on Gregg met Denise, a pastry chef. They married in 1999 and have to children together, Tom and Libby. They split five years later.
In 2009 Gregg met his third wife Heidi, a biology teacher, on social media, after striking up a relationship via Twitter. They married in 2010 but the marriage broke down and they divorced just 15 months later.
Then in 2013, Gregg met Anna, also on social media. Recalling meeting Anna during an appearance on Lorraine. Greg said: "I sent her a message and we started sending messages.
"Then I sent her my phone number, this was five years ago. She came down to London to have dinner with me, and she said it wasn’t until we got to the restaurant, that she was comfortable it was really me and not an impostor.”
He added: "I think it’s just luck, and I got very lucky this time. Very lucky."
