Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) has often expressed her thoughts about Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) marrying Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in Emmerdale.
As the big day nears ever closer, Mackenzie is very focused on the fact Chloe (Jessie Elland) has almost reached the end of her pregnancy journey and will soon welcome their baby into the world.
Mack is forced to turn his attention elsewhere soon, as this new video shows the moment he hands over the wedding rings to Moira, who’s agreed to be his best woman.
Joined by Nate (Jurell Carter), Mack heads off, leaving Moira and Charity alone together and as you can probably guess, it doesn’t exactly end with them hugging and agreeing to meet up for a girly chat in the future.
‘She was thinking surely he would have picked Ryan or Nate over Moira!’, Emma Atkins told us recently, explaining Charity’s shock when she learns that Moira has been picked as Mack’s right-hand woman.
‘They [Charity and Mack] go for this afternoon of tea and cake and as they arrive Charity and Mackenzie are approaching Nate and Moira and he immediately passes the rings to Moira to look after, so she puts them in the pocket of her farming overalls and I think Charity’s a bit like “What the heck’s going on there?”.’
Left alone to talk about Mack when he was younger, topic of conversation for Charity and Moira then turns to wedding presents.
After Charity suggests a gift in relation to The A Team, Moira snaps back at her, as Emma explained.
‘Moira says “look, why don’t you just opt for the more simplistic beautiful gesture, something really small? Why do you need to go all out there?”. We see that tips Charity over the edge. It irritates her and gets under her skin and she’s like, “are you saying I’m over the top? What are you trying to say?”. She’s goading Moira and in the end it leads to this big blow-up argument. She says something quite cutting to Moira about her marriage to Cain which I’ll leave to the audience to enjoy.
‘Charity feels she’s taken it one step too far with her insults and goes to find Moira and sees her in the barn sorting out these hay bales’, Emma added.
‘She says “look, maybe I shouldn’t have said what I said” and then Moira says something else which really, really winds Charity up and they end up weirdly having this kind of physical fight [laughs] and they end up rolling around in these hay bales and the wedding rings flip out of Moira’s overalls, little to her knowledge, and she stands up and goes “Oh! I’ve lost the rings!”.
‘Then another argument ensues. It’s just one things after another with those two!’.
