Last month’s release of No Time To Die marked the end of Daniel Craig’s journey as 007 and the beginning of the next era of James Bond. The Bond odds have continually fluctuated over the past few months, with Tom Hardy often being at the top of the leaderboard, but now a Netflix actor has taken over as the new front runner in an unexpected turn of events.

William Hill has recently slashed the odds of The Umbrella Academy actor Tom Hopper.

The British star, who played Luther in the superhero show, previously had an enormous 100/1 on becoming Bond after Craig.

But it’s all change as a flurry of bets has slashed Hopper’s odds drastically.

Currently, Hopper has an incredible 3/1 on becoming the Bond actor in the near future.

William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams said: “It looks like we have been caught on the hop here. Yesterday morning Tom Hopper was completely off our radar, but he is firmly on it now.

“The gamble suggests that he is almost certainly on the shortlist.”

It is important to note that, currently, the Bond shortlist has been kept a complete secret by 007 bosses Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.

With that said, the massive volume of bets suggests Hopper could be a real contender going forward.

These new numbers push him ahead of Hardy, who still has an impressive 4/1.

Hopper has also overtaken his Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden, who was marked as the Bond favourite earlier this week.

Madden recently had his odds slashed to 4/1, pushing him ahead of Hardy.

Hopper, Hardy and Madden are also ahead of Bridgerton heartthrob Regé-Jean Page.

Page’s popularity spiked last Christmas when the period drama hit the streaming service, propping him up as the favourite for the role.

He now has 7/1 from William Hill, ahead of some other potential Hollywood A-listers.

Superman actor Henry Cavill is also in the running with a strong 10/1.

The Brit is followed by the Welsh star of the Lord of the Rings franchise, Luke Evans, who has an incredible 12/1.

The odds include betting on the first female Bond, as well.

Lashana Lynch, the latest 007, has been given 12/1 on the betting as well, following her debut as the newest super spy Nomi.

Lynch is followed by Loki star Tom Hiddleston, who has 14/1.

James Bond No Time To Die is in cinemas now.
