Schedules have changed for tonight’s soaps ahead of the permanent switch up next week.
Because of the FA Cup, soaps schedules have change throughout the whole week, with no Emmerdale or EastEnders airing tonight.
What times are soaps airing this week?
With no trip to the Dales or Walford on the cards tonight, it means extra episodes will air during the rest of this week.
The schedule for the soaps will run as follows:
Wednesday: Emmerdale, 7pm
Thursday: Emmerdale 7pm and EastEnders, 7:40pm
Friday: Emmerdale 7pm, EastEnders 8pm and 8:30pm, Coronation Street 8pm.
Sunday: Coronation Street 8pm.
To make things even more confusing, next week will mark the start of the soaps permanent schedule change as a new era begins.
What time are the soaps on next week?
Emmerdale, which has aired at 7pm for decades, will be moving to a later slot of 7:30pm to allow ITV’s new news programme time to finish.
The ITV soap will air every weeknight at 7:30pm, with an hour-long outing on Thursday.
Much like Emmerdale, Coronation Street will be bumped further down the schedule due to the extended news programming. It will, however, still air directly after Emmerdale, but in the new timeslot of 8pm.
Coronation Street will air hour-long offerings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm.
And for EastEnders, the soap will move to a brand new time slot of 7:30pm from March 7. Not only that, but it will also drop the Friday episode, meaning that all four slices of Walford drama will air on consecutive nights.
The new scheduling will begin on March 7.
