PEPPA Pig fans were astonished to recognise Amelie Bea Smith, the voice of Peppa, in ITV drama Hollington Drive.
The 10-year-old actress is playing Eva, a young girl who goes missing whilst out playing with her cousin, Ben.
When the pair are eventually found, Eva's mother Theresa immediately senses that something dreadful has happened.
The first episode of the six-part series premiered on September 29.
Fans of the show were somewhat distracted by Amelie's presence, with one saying that once she realised the connection she "can't hear anything else."
Another excitedly wrote on Twitter: "Y'all, it's the Peppa Pig gal", followed by a number of emojis.
The chilling Hollington Drive is a big step away from Amelie's best known role as lovable Peppa – but it's not the first time the young actress has ventured into more adult work.
In 2020, the young actress stepped into the shoes of creepy orphan Flora Wingrave in Netflix's The Haunting of Bly Manor.
Amelie's also appeared in long-running soap EastEnders as a foster child named Daisy back in 2018 – the star's first ever TV gig.
Amelie took over the role of Peppa Pig from Harley Bird, who had been in the role for a staggering 13 years, in February 2020.
Peppa Pig first premiered back in 2004 – before Amelie was born – and has since become a worldwide hit, having been broadcast in 180 different countries.
