David Attenborough’s Planet Earth III teased in trailer
Planet Earth III fans were left emotional just minutes into the first episode of the new season.
Last hitting screens back in 2016, BBC viewers were thrilled to see the highly anticipated third instalment of the nature show make its come back.
In the first episode, Sir David Attenborough took viewers around the globe to see wildlife within coastal regions.
During the programme, people got to witness Cape fur seals on South Africa’s Robberg Peninsula who faced a tough battle for survival.
Delving off of the rocks to the waters below in order to get food, the seals had to try and avoid Great White Sharks, who circled the area in large numbers near them.

In the episode, Sir David said: “These usually solitary hunters are gathering in unprecedented numbers, a dozen at a time.
“The seals are nimble but great whites are patient and have explosive acceleration. Cornered, the seals keep close to the jagged cliffs, they are trapped.”
It wasn’t long before viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the pups as one animal didn’t get a lucky escape.
@milominder commented: “Attenborough doesn’t f*** about, does he? Nine minutes in, and a great white shark is already breaking a nation’s collective heart.” (sic)

@HelenSwire said: “Me: This world is horrifying and scary right now, I’m going to calm myself down with #PlanetEarthIII. David Attenborough: Buckle up, b******s, let’s see who’s fighting for survival this time. First, a baby seal…in MORTAL DANGER.”
However, in an unexpected turn of events, fans watched in awe as the seals banded together in order to push the shark out of their territory.
Speaking about the new season, Sir David said: “In this new series of Planet Earth we travel to the most astonishing wild places, see mysterious creatures, witness rare, spectacular wonders, and reveal breath-taking animal dramas.
“The natural world continues to surprise us, but since Darwin’s time, it has changed beyond recognition, being transformed by a powerful force – us.
“We will see how animals are adapting in extraordinary ways, to survive the new challenges they face. At this crucial time in our history, we must now look at the world through a new lens.”
Planet Earth continues next Sunday on BBC One from 6:15pm
